LIVERPOOL MAKE MOVE FOR COLOMBIA STAR

Liverpool have been linked with a last-ditch move for Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez. The Colombia international is reportedly close to a move to Italian side after Bayern Munich declined to make his move to the club permanent.

The Reds have been linked with the Colombian number 10 for a couple of seasons and the club are mauling a bid for the player. Liverpool’s weakness is the lack of creativity in their midfield and the arrival of James Rodriguez would resolve that issue.

James has a wealth of arsenal in his game. He is an excellent setpiece taker and has the ability to score from long range. He is also an elite playmaker with the ability to create chances from nothing.

James is considered as one of the best midfielders in Europe and it remains to be seen if a move would materialize for the playmaker.

The club have completed the signing of young prospect Connor Bradley to the club’s academy. Bradley has signed a scholarship contract which runs for two years after which he would eligible for a professional contract.

Bradley moves from Northern Ireland club Dungannon United youth setup and has already undergone trial at the Liverpool.

The talented teenager would be hoping to play regularly for the u18 side which won the FA Youth Cup last season.

Jurgen Klopp has proven that he is not shy of handing youth products a chance in the first team. Trent Alexander-Arnold is a good example of a player that progressed through the youth grade and has become a mainstay in the first team.

Bradley would be looking to follow the same part and it remains to be seen how he would fare at the club.

Meanwhile, the Reds are thought to be closing in on a deal for Lille ace Nicolas Pepe. The 23-year-old is currently with Ivory Coast in the Afcon 2019 tournament.

However, his representatives have begun talks with Liverpool over a possible transfer. Lille have put an asking price of £70 million for the forward but Liverpool wants to negotiate for a lower fee.
