STILL IN TOUCH

Carlos Valderrama retired from playing professional football back in 2002, but the star of Colombia is still in touch with the sport outside of the pitch. When he was promoting a movie in which he starred, journalists took the chance to question him about a number of things, including the upcoming 2014 World Cup.

His national team, Colombia was pitted against Ivory Coast, Greece and Japan and when asked about the situation of the nation, he stated that it is a tough group but the squad has the capacity to perform well.

‘’First of all, I want Colombia to play well. If they can manage on doing that then they will be able to advance into the next stages of the worldwide tournament. The 1st match is crucial, not only for us but for all the other nations. I am saying this with my own experience and I know that everyone feels the same way. It’s a match that if we can manage to win it, then we can continue with the same momentum for the rest of the games’’.

When Valderrama was asked about which his favorite nation is, he responded by saying Argentina and went on praising Lionel Messi.

‘’Messi is going to do impressive stuff, because he is a brilliant player and his age’’.

Now that Valderrama is off of the pitch, he recently starred in a movie with the director Nestor Montalbano and the remaining questions made by the journalists took a step more into the role he made in his latest acting service.

He stated that he never thought about playing a part in a movie and the only thing of that nature he had done was some years ago in Colombia where he made commercials and he would like to continue acting if the chance opens up.
